Employee Benefits
Annual Leave
- Career Service Employees earn leave each pay period. The amount of hours earned each pay period is determined by length of time with the state.
- 0-5 years of service = 4.0 hours
- 5-10 years of service = 5.0 hours
- 10+ years of service = 6.0 hours
Sick Leave
- Career service employees earn 4 hours each pay period.
Personal Holiday
- Full-time employees are granted one personal holiday each year. The holiday is given on July 1 and must be used by June 30. Personal holidays do not rollover to the next fiscal year.
Health Insurance

Retirement

Federal Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program
- Individuals must apply for this program. https://studentaid.ed.gov/sa/sites/default/files/public-service-employment-certification-form.pdf
- Individuals will qualify for the PSLFP after making 120 qualifying payments while employed full time by certain public service employers.
- Student loans eligible include any non-defaulted Direct Loans.
- Other types of loans may become eligible if they are consolidated into a Direct Consolidation loan.

- Certain Health Professions and Nursing Loans.

Tuition Fee Waiver
- State employees are able to enroll up to 6 credit hours/semester at any state college with tuition fees waived. This enables employees to pursue further career options with the needed credit hours/degree and have the ability to move up within the facility.
- Undergraduate and graduate programs are eligible for the fee waivers.
State Life Insurance
- Full time employees receive a benefit of $25,000 for the state sponsored life insurance plan at no cost.
