Human trafficking is a crime that involves exploitation of a person using force, fraud, or coercion for the purpose of forced labor and/or commercial sex. If the sex trafficking victim is under the age of 18, it is human trafficking regardless of whether force, fraud and/or coercion was used.
Human Trafficking Vulnerability and recruitment is everywhere and remains a serious issue in northeast Florida. The region is actively addressing this complex situation and exploitation through collaborative efforts among law enforcement, non-profit organizations, and local, state, and federal agencies.
The Circuit 1 Human Trafficking Task Force is proud to present the 5th Annual Summit: "In Plain Sight: Dangers in Our Community," with extended format offering afternoon sessions providing additional resources and training, especially to those in the medical field by offering 4 CEUs in Human Trafficking education through Baptist Health Care.
